Fortunes

You'd think I really like chinese food for as many fortune cookies that I quote, but I actually ALWAYS order that same thing (Steamed vegetables, no water chesnuts, brown sauce and add cashews).

My fortune is appropriate today and I'm using it as a springboard for and enlightening and unforgettable trip: "Sometimes travel to new places leads to great transformation".

I'll have lots of blog-fodder when I get back!

I'm Adding to My Wish List

I keep a little running list in my head of things that I want my kids to be. My list of things includes : Respectful, Compassionate, Courageous and Kind, among others. Today, as I was cleaning like a mad woman, I added Grateful to the list. How could I have forgotten Grateful? Yes, I'd like to live with people who appreciate my efforts.

Ok, so I'm bag crazy, bag sick over here. Thanks to M. I can't help it, it's so fun and the rewards are immediate. I have a friend that is going into the hospital today for her 5th or 6th major surgery. I made this for her and stuffed it with magazines and a journal. Send her some positive thoughts today.

The Gift

Here's something that I get from my Mom's side of the family: Her Scotch-Irish ancestors surely passed this on...It's the ability to spot 4 Leaf Clovers! I swear I can find one anywhere, and within minutes. Her whole side of the family held a strong belief that they held lots of luck.

I remember hearing this all of the time as we kids begged Mom to wait for us, as our shorter legs and small attention spans caused delays and doddling as we trudged up the hill from the barn through the orchard to the house: "Weight broke the wagon"!
